    On October 2, 2004 the French-American Scholarship Fund was created by members of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Houston, Texas.  The Scholarship Fund has always had the primary goal of promoting understanding and commerce between the peoples of France and the United States. Throughout the years of its existence, the Scholarship Fund has met the financial needs of American students whose definition of the American Dream recognizes the importance of diplomacy and intercultural awareness in today’s shrinking world.  The Scholarship Fund provides high school merit scholarships and study abroad grants to students who wish to study French in France. The Scholarship Fund also gives aid to students in dire situations with its Katrina Student Evacuee scholarship, and cultural appreciation events for disadvantaged children. Our organization has encountered many opportunities to aid students in the name of its original goal -- promoting international understanding and commerce. With your support, we can improve many more student’s lives and understanding.
